Senate President Godswill Akpabio says the 2026 appropriation bill is more than the compilation of figures.
Akpabio made this statement on Friday during the presentation of the 2026 budget at the Senate Chamber of the National Assembly.
DAILY POST reports that President Tinubu had earlier arrived at the National Assembly to submit the appropriation bill.
Akpabio said, “The 6th appropriation bill you are about to present before us is, therefore, far more than a compilation of figures. It is for us a statement of intent.
“This is a reflection of priorities, a rigour of difficult choices and a roadmap of the next phase of the Nigeria national renewal.
“Over the past year, our country has navigated a period of transition in the midst of very difficult challenges and businesses have adjusted to changes in the economic environment.
“Politics resolve has reminded us that this is not a gift that we inherit but a responsibility that we must constantly defend,” Akpabio said.
