Technical director, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Augustine Eguavoen has declared that the Super Eagles can’t afford to lose against Bafana Bafana of South Africa, DAILY POST reports.
The Super Eagles, who defeated Rwanda’s Amavubi 1-0 in Uyo last Saturday, trail South Africa by six points on the Group C log.
Another win against Bafana Bafana will see Eric Chelle’s side cut South Africa’s lead to three, and put them in a good position to qualify for the global soccer fiesta.
Eguavoen reckoned they have respect for South Africa but the Super Eagles will strive to beat their hosts.
“Of course it’s a massive game, we have no choice, Nigeria has no choice. We respect South Africa, but we are gunning for three points, simple as that,” Eguavoen was quoted by FARPOST.
Tuesday’s encounter slated for the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein will kick off at 6pm local time (5pm Nigerian time).
