2027: ADC vows to unseat APC in Borno

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has declared its intention to take over Borno State in the 2027 general elections, as it ramps up preparations to contest the governorship seat.

The party made the declaration on Sunday in Maiduguri during the inauguration of its state executive members, where its chairman, Kolo Bukar, said the ADC is positioning itself to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Bukar said the party’s decision to contest the election is driven by what he described as persistent insecurity and governance challenges in the state.

He noted that the ADC is determined to change the political landscape in Borno, expressing confidence that the party understands the needs of the people across all 27 local government areas.

“We are going to change the political tide in 2027. Our party knows the people and we know how to unseat the ruling party in Borno State,” he said.

The ADC chairman also linked the resurgence of attacks in parts of the North-East to governance failures, insisting that the party would offer alternative solutions if elected.

He said the ADC is working on policies aimed at addressing insecurity, poverty, and unemployment in the state.

Also speaking, a party leader, Kashim Imam Ibrahim, said the ADC’s priority is to improve the living conditions of residents and provide responsive leadership.

The party expressed optimism that despite existing challenges within its ranks, it would emerge stronger ahead of the 2027 elections.
