Deji Aboderin, a former Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the immediate past governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives election in Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East federal constituency in 2027.
Aboderin, said he will contest on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC.
He revealed his decision on Wednesday, while addressing a press conference at his Ward 9 in Ibadan South East local government area.
DAILY POST reports that Aboderin was the House of Representatives candidate on the platform of APC in 2019 but lost the election.
Aboderin while addressing journalists, noted that the need to serve the people made him declare his ambition ahead of 2027 general elections.
He said he has gone round the federal constituency and concluded that the area is in dire need of a competent representative.
He said he was rigged out the last time he contested on the platform of the APC in 2019 but has learnt his lessons.
Aboderin maintained that he is prepared to contest on the platform of the APC and win the election this time around.
He said “I am meeting some leaders of the party today and that is why I am here in my Ward. I have to start from my Ward 9 in Ibadan South East local government area.
“I contested on the platform of APC in 2019. I won the election but as you know in Nigeria, they did abracadabra. I have learnt my lessions. I have learnt from my mistakes.
“I have done some things for the people. We need a lot of things in this area. That is why I am contesting in 2027. I have gone round the area and people are saying that we don’t have a good representative. We need a social policy that will take care of all categories of people in society”.
