Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau, says the All Progressives Congress, APC, remains the party to beat at all levels in the upcoming 2027 general election.
NAN reports that Jatau stated this on Tuesday in Lafia, while playing host to over 20 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stakeholders of the Eggon extraction, set to dump the party for the APC.
He assured all members, especially those who recently ditched their parties for the APC, of equal opportunities and rights.
The Speaker expressed joy with the PDP stakeholders’ decision, which he described as timely and well-informed.
Jatau disclosed that he would inform the state governor and the party chairman of their move, after which they would be received officially.
He described the planned defection of the PDP stakeholders as “another big catch and victory” for the APC in the state.
Jatau called for loyalty, unity and teamwork among party members for a landslide victory in 2027.
He equally called on residents to continue to pray and support the administration of President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
Earlier, the team leader, Alhaji Abubakar Company, said they were relocating their tent due to the quality leadership of Governor Sule and the Speaker.
He added that they would add value to the party and ensure the party’s victory beyond 2027.
