With the 2027 general elections on the horizon, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) has issued a strong warning that Nigeria cannot afford to squander yet another opportunity to reshape its future.
Speaking in Abuja on Sunday, Dr. Umar Ardo, the Protem National Secretary of the newly emerging political group, condemned both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for what he described as years of failed leadership and national decline.
“The hour of decision is now. Nigeria cannot afford another wasted election cycle. 2027 must not be business as usual,” Ardo declared.
He criticized the dominance of long-standing political figures, accusing them of presiding over a system that has impoverished Nigerians and weakened the nation’s foundations.
“The recycled politicians of APC, PDP and sundry have forfeited every moral right to lead this country. They have failed, and failed woefully. Their continued grip on power is a death sentence for Nigeria’s survival as a nation. But a new dawn is possible – if the patriotic elites, men and women, and the Nigerian youths, unite under one banner, the ADA banner. Together, we can birth a political renaissance rooted in justice,” he said.

According to Ardo, ADA — which has recently received provisional recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) — is not just another political platform but a vehicle for radical transformation. He argued that since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999, successive governments have led the country into deeper crises.
He painted a grim picture of the current national condition, blaming it on entrenched political interests. “A visionless, venal, corrupt, insensitive and banal political class” has, in his words, captured the state, leaving the majority of Nigerians in a state of poverty, fear, and hopelessness.
Ardo expressed frustration that Nigeria’s educated and patriotic citizens have long disengaged from the political process, thereby allowing corrupt actors to dominate governance. “As 2027 looms, we are witnessing the same tragic cycle again,” he warned. “The very politicians who wrecked the present and mortgaged the future are once again jostling for power under the old platforms that destroyed the country – APC, PDP and others.”
He urged Nigerians not to remain passive but to rally around a new political vision capable of delivering meaningful change. Describing the ADA as “not just another party but the moral rebirth of our nation,” Ardo made a passionate appeal: Nigerians must unite under the ADA to “salvage democracy and rebuild Nigeria.”
