
Former Senate President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BOT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Adolphus Wabara and some members of opposition parties in Ukwa- mEast Local Government Area of Abia State have declared their readiness to work for the re-election of Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party, LP.
They made the declaration on Thursday at Ohanku-Ndoki, Ukwa- East LGA, after the foundation laying ceremony of Ukwa- East General Hospital.
Wabara moved a motion for the endorsement of Governor Otti for a second tenure. The motion was seconded by a serving member of the Abia State House of Assembly, Louis Obianyi.
Defending the decision, the former Senate President explained that support for Otti cuts across party lines, adding that they were satisfied by the performance of the governor in Ukwa-East and the entire state.
The Ukwa-East leaders who were joined by former Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okey Emuchay, appealed to Governor Otti to revive the Abia Palm Company situated in the area, saying it would create employment and boost the economy.
Earlier in his speech while while flagging off the Ukwa- East General Hospital project, Governor Alex Otti said residents of Abia State deserve quality and accessible healthcare.
The governor who said his administration is out to ensure that no part of the state lacks quality healthcare services.
Meanwhile, former members of the PDP and All Progressives Congress, APC, who quit their parties, were received into the Labour Party during a reception ceremony organized for Otti by the people of Ukwa-East.
