The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Citizenship and Leadership, Nasir Bala Aminu, popularly known as Ja’oji, has resigned from his position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It was gathered that his resignation follows a directive issued by President Tinubu instructing all political appointees interested in contesting elective offices in 2027 to step down from their positions on or before March 31, 2026.
The directive applies to ministers, special advisers, senior special assistants, and other political appointees serving in the current administration.
According to Daily Trust, in his resignation letter, Ja’oji expressed appreciation to the president for the opportunity to serve, describing his appointment as a clear demonstration of the administration’s commitment to youth inclusion and leadership development.
He noted that his selection for key roles was driven by President Tinubu’s confidence in the capacity of young Nigerians and his vision to empower them to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Ja’oji also reaffirmed his loyalty to the president and pledged to continue supporting the administration’s goals, adding that he remains ready to serve the country in any capacity if called upon in the future.
