“I’m married but I’m not in my husband’s house” — Gospel singer Shola Allyson opens up about her marriage

Nigerian gospel singer Shola Allyson has shocked many with a rare, honest revelation about her marriage. During a new interview with Oyinmomo TV, the 54-year-old singer known for her classic love album Eji Owuro said she is still married but no longer lives with her husband. According to her, the fairytale many people describe in marriage has never been her reality. Im married, but Im not in my husbands house. We live separately, she said. When asked if she ever experienced genuine love especially since she sang one of Nigerias most iconic love songs Shola explained that older generations misled many into thinking love alone guarantees a happy home. In her words, We lied before. Those older than us didnt inform us that its tough. They made us believe that so long as you both love each other, you will live happily ever after, but its a lie. Thats not the experience I have. I didnt have the experience of living happily ever after.
