Reality star and actor Pere Egbi has penned an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the death of former president Muhammadu Buhari. In the emotional address shared via social media, Pere urged Tinubu to reflect on the pain many Nigerians still carry due to years of hardship and loss, while appealing to his conscience and leadership to help the country heal. Nigeria is hurting. Millions are broken. Many have lost faith in our political leaders, not because they want to, but because the pain left behind has fermented into bitterness and hate, he wrote. Pere, who admitted he doesnt agree with all of Tinubus policies, said he still believes the president has the power to change the countrys story for good. Beyond his message to Tinubu, Pere also rebuked Nigerians who are publicly celebrating the death of the late former president. Blast him while hes alive. Express your displeasure while hes breathing... But once hes gone, for the sake of those he left behind... show some restraint, he said in another post. He emphasized that not insulting the dead doesnt mean endorsing their actions. Blaming him for hardship and loss is valid. Whats not valid is assuming that not cursing a dead man equals endorsing his actions. Pere concluded by stressing that true healing wont come from mirroring the cruelty that once caused pain. You dont correct injustice by becoming just as cold and heartless Celebrating death doesnt heal, it simply mimics the cruelty we claim to oppose. View post below..
