
A traditional leader in Katsina State, Abdullahi Muhammadu Bello, who was abducted by suspected bandits during a raid on Karaduwa village, has been rescued by security operatives.
DAILY POST had earlier reported that the 60-year-old, who holds the title of Wakilin Hakimin Matazu, was taken from his residence during a violent attack on the village around 3:30 a.m. on Friday.
According to security sources, Bello was rescued around 4:00 p.m on Sunday at Maharba village in Matazu Local Government Area, following sustained search efforts by security operatives.
He was immediately taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, for medical evaluation and later reunited with his family.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances of the abduction and bring the perpetrators to justice.
