Welsh football club, Wrexham AFC recorded a loss of around 15 million during the financial year ending June 2025, as the club invested heavily in its rise to the EFL Championship.According to the clubs financial report, Wrexham posted an operating loss of 14.84 million, reflecting increased spending on both playing and non-playing staff as part of its promotion push. Despite the losses, the club is now debt-free following new investment, including backing from minority investors Apollo Sports Capital.Owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham have risen from the National League to the Championship in just three seasons, a rapid climb through English football. The club also reported strong financial growth, with turnover increasing from 26.72 million in 2024 to 33.33 million in 2025, a rise of 24 percent. Officials attributed the growth to the clubs expanding global profile, boosted by on-pitch success, commercial activity and international exposure, including the popularity of the documentary series Welcome to Wrexham. The global profile of the Club continues to be enhanced through a combination of on-pitch success, international media exposure and the strategic utilisation of the Clubs ownership profile, the report said.Although the documentary does not directly generate revenue, it has played a key role in strengthening the clubs brand and commercial appeal. Matchday revenue has also improved, partly due to the use of a temporary stand at the Kop End of the Racecourse Ground.Plans are underway to further expand the stadium, with a proposed new Kop Stand expected to increase capacity to over 18,000 if approved. On the pitch, Wrexham remain in contention for promotion, sitting just outside the play-off places with several games remaining, keeping alive the possibility of a fourth consecutive promotion. The post Actor Ryan Reynold's football club, Wrexham announce 15million loss despite record turnover for reaching Championship appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
