ADC elects new executives in Nasarawa

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa State has elected new state officials to pilot its affairs for the next four years.

The election, held on Saturday in Lafia, was conducted through a consensus arrangement ratified by delegates from the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.

Mr. John Michael-Abdul emerged as the ADC chairman in the state alongside other executive members.

Also elected at the forum were the Deputy Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Secretary, Woman Leader and zonal officials for Nasarawa North, Nasarawa South and Nasarawa West senatorial districts.

In his acceptance speech, Michael-Abdul, pledged to reposition the party as a credible alternative in the state’s political landscape.

He said the new executive would prioritise grassroots mobilisation, internal democracy and issue-based engagement during and beyond electioneering periods.

Michael-Abdul, a former Deputy Governor of the state, expressed optimism that the party would take over leadership at both the state and national levels in 2027.

“Our mandate is to build a party that reflects the values of integrity, inclusion and quality service to the people of Nasarawa State.

“Today, by your consensus and by this congress, you have entrusted us with the responsibility to serve our great party for the next four years, and we accept it with humility and a strong sense of duty,” he said.

He added that the new officials would develop a comprehensive work plan within 30 days to strengthen the party across the 147 electoral wards, 13 LGAs and the state.
