Raphael Onyedika has expressed his excitement after claiming the Man of the Match award following Nigeria’s dominant 3-1 win over the Cranes of Uganda, DAILY POST reports.
Onyedika, who made his first appearance of the competition against Paul Put’s side, was one of the Super Eagles’ top performers on the night.
The 24-year-old scored two superb goals within five minutes in the second half.
The Club Brugge star also controlled the midfield alongside Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
He has now put himself in contention for a starting berth in Nigeria’s Round of 16 fixture.
Onyedika shared his excitement after the game: “I feel very happy and I can’t really explain how I feel at this moment. These are moments I’ve been working towards all my life, and I’m happy that things are starting to come under control.”
