Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has given his verdict on the officiating of Ghana referee Daniel Laryea during Nigeria’s AFCON semi-final defeat to Morocco on Wednesday.
Osimhen labelled Laryea’s officiating as ‘bad’ after Morocco defeated Nigeria 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw.
“The game was nothing to write home about in terms of the officiating; it was that bad,” the Galatasaray attacker said at his pre-match interview at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
“I have to say a very big congratulations to the Moroccans, and also I am proud of my team for the kind of fight we put up against a very good quality side,” he said.
Osimhen will now hope to lead Nigeria to victory when they face Egypt in the AFCON third-place final on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Osimhen’s Super Eagles teammate, Bright Osayi-Samuel, had slammed Laryea for his officiating during the encounter.
But Laryea received praise from a member of the Parliament of Ghana, Patrick Yaw Boamah, for his ‘outstanding officiating’.
