Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has suggested why his team defeated Tunisia 3-2 in Saturday’s AFCON group tie.
Chelle watched as three goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman ensured Nigeria defeated Tunisia.
The outcome of the game means Nigeria tops Group C with 6 points from two games ahead of second-position Tunisia, while Tanzania and Uganda sit in third and fourth positions, respectively.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Chelle said his team kept the ball well for 70 minutes against Tunisia, adding that they played a great game by scoring three goals.
“Tunisia did not let in one goal during the World Cup qualifiers,” Chelle told RFI.
“Three goals against this team! This is for me a great game. We kept the ball so well during 70 or so minutes.”
Nigeria is up against Uganda in their next AFCON fixture in the next few days.
