Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Monday inaugurated 16 newly appointed commissioners into the State Executive Council, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to accountability, transparency, and steady development across the state.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony held in Akure, the state capital, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the event as “a significant milestone in the journey to building a greater Ondo State,” emphasizing that his government would remain focused on consistency, long-term goals, and sustainable growth rather than quick fixes.
“The people of Ondo State expect nothing but the best from us, having entrusted us with an overwhelming mandate, and we must strive to deliver on all our electioneering promises,” the governor declared.
He urged the commissioners to hit the ground running, noting that performance expectations are high and only excellent service delivery would be acceptable.
“This concept highlights the value of persistence, patience and steady progress in achieving goals. Within the first 100 days of our administration, we have been able to prove that slow and steady wins the race,” he added.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also warned families and associates of the newly appointed commissioners against applying undue pressure for personal or sectional gains, urging the appointees to remain focused on their duties to the people.

He further noted that his government had continued several inherited projects while launching new ones, and that ongoing proactive engagement with credible investors was already yielding positive economic outcomes.
In his welcome address, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, hailed the appointments as a strategic move toward inclusive and people-oriented governance. He commended the governor’s foresight and described the new commissioners as individuals chosen based on merit, competence, and loyalty to the administration’s developmental agenda.
“This is a call to impactful service,” Fasoranti said, urging the appointees to justify the trust reposed in them.
