Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central has revealed her colleagues’ reactions when her invitation letter was read during plenary on Thursday.
DAILY POST recalls that Natasha had, in her letter, invited the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and other lawmakers to the inauguration of constituency projects in Kogi State.
The invitation, which was contained in a letter read by Akpabio during the plenary, signaled an olive branch extended to the leadership of the Red Chamber after her suspension.
In a post on her official Facebook page on Friday, Natasha stated that while Akpabio “smiled genuinely,” others wiped their tears when her letter was read.
According to the lawmaker, “During plenary, Akpabio, the same man who presided over my suspension, the same leader whose allies pushed for my seat to be declared vacant, stood at the podium and read aloud my elegantly crafted invitation.
“The chamber erupted in applause. Senators from across divides clapped. Some laughed at the irony. Others wiped tears. Akpabio smiled genuinely, it seemed. And Natasha? She sat poised, radiant, unbowed.”
