The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has announced the deployment of 10,250 personnel for the Anambra governorship election slated for November 8.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the corps spokesperson, Afolabi Babawale, quoted the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, as saying that the officers will ensure maximum security before, during, and after the election.
According to Audi, the deployment will include tactical units drawn from the national headquarters and neighbouring states as part of measures to guarantee a peaceful and smooth exercise.
He further noted that the NSCDC will collaborate closely with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies under the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) to protect voters, electoral materials, and officials.
The corps also assured Anambra residents of its unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order while safeguarding citizens’ fundamental rights throughout the election period.
