APC clarifies Wike’s status amid FCT election role

7 hours ago 2

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday reiterated that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, is not a member of the party, despite his visible support during the recent FCT area council elections.

Wike, who remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was instrumental in ensuring APC’s victory in five out of six local government areas.

Before the polls, he pledged to back candidates aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking on Arise News, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka dismissed speculation about Wike’s membership.

When asked what the party would do if Wike were in APC but working for another party, Morka responded: “No, listen, you’re asking for me to speculate, and I will not speculate. That question is for the PDP. You should direct that question to the PDP as to how they organize their party, how they treat their members, how they handle matters like this in the Peoples Democratic Party. I cannot speculate on a matter that rests exclusively within the party.”
