A former Senate President, David Mark, has said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) lacks the capacity to effectively address the worsening insecurity in the country.
Mr Mark made the assertion on Wednesday in Abuja while speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting with party members and supporters, where he expressed concern over the persistent wave of violence across several parts of Nigeria.
He noted that despite repeated assurances by the APC led government, insecurity has continued to escalate, leaving citizens vulnerable and communities displaced.
“The truth must be told. The current administration has not demonstrated the required capacity to tackle insecurity decisively,” he said.
The former Senate president stressed that the protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of any government, adding that failure in that regard undermines public trust and national stability.
According to him, Nigerians deserve a government that can guarantee their safety and restore confidence in the nation’s security architecture.
