In Kaura Mamuda local government area, where 16 villages were attacked, five people were killed by the bandits, while many others were abducted.

A source told DAILY POST that the attacks in Kaura Namoda took place between Saturday and Sunday, saying that the bandits also rustled many animals worth millions of naira during the operations.

According to him, “the armed bandits invaded three communities in Zurmi LGA-Zurmi town, Dada, and Gidan Shaho, abducted 24 people and injured one.”

He explained that the attacks by the bandits were done quietly as they did not fire a single shot during the operation that lasted about an hour.

Zurmi’s silent raid, according to him, was similar to the attack in Ruwan Dorawa village about two years ago, where bandits operated for roughly two hours without firing a shot.

He stated that 18 people, mostly women, were kidnapped in Zurmi town, four abducted in Dada village, and two others were taken from Gidan Shaho, bringing the total number of abductees to 24.

He explained that one of the four persons abducted in Dada village is a classroom teacher who was on his way home when he suddenly encountered the bandits as they were leaving the village with the abducted persons.

They (bandits) he said, ordered him (teacher) to join them, and he complied.
