Arsenal crash out of FA Cup as Man City, Chelsea through to semis

Arsenal fell short while Chelsea and Manchester City have secured their spots in the semifinal of the English FA Cup after beating their opponents on Saturday.

The Gunners, who were beaten in the final of the Carabao Cup, failed to advance to the last four of the FA Cup, losing 2-1 to Southampton.

Arsenal are suffering back-to-back defeats while Saints are now into the last four for the first time since 2021.

At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City thrashed Liverpool 4-0 in an entertaining game that saw Erling Haaland net a hat-trick while Antoine Semenyo scored one.

Mohamed Salah missed a penalty in the game as victorious City have now reached a record-extending eighth straight FA Cup semi-final.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea halted a run of four damaging defeats with a heavy beating of Port Vale 7-0.

Port Vale sit bottom of League One but they reached the FA Cup last eight for the first time in 72 years by knocking out Sunderland in the previous round.

The semi-final draw takes place on Sunday.
