Arsenal thrashed Leeds United 4-0 in a Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon to secure a seven-point lead at the top of the league.

Noni Madueke starred im the absence of Bukayo Saka who was injured during warmup, as he was involved in two goals.

First, Madueke assisted Martin Zubimendi for opener in the 27th minute before taking a corner that was forced into net by Leeds keeper Karl Darlow.

Madueke, who has had to play the role of back-up for most of this season, took his chance to impress and keep the Gunners in a dominating position at halftime.

Viktor Gyokeres then fought to get on the end of Gabriel Martinelli’s inviting cross to make it 3-0 before substitute Gabriel Jesus added a fourth late on.

Arsenal thus clinched an important victory to put pressure on their title rivals, Manchester City and Aston Villa, who are not in action until Sunday.

Elsehwere, Brighton failed to hold on to their lead as Everton scored a late equaliser in a 1-1 encounter.

Brighton scored the opener through Pascal Gross in 73rd minute, but Beto strikes in the 97th minute to rescue point for Everton.

The result means Everton sit eighth on the table with 34 points, while Brighton are two points behind in 13th place.

Wolverhampton Wanderers fell to 2-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth.
