Arsenal vs Atletico Madrid: Thierry Henry sends message to Arteta over Myles Lewis-Skelly

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has urged manager, Mikel Arteta to start Myles Lewis-Skelly when the Gunners face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final second leg on Tuesday after his impressive performance against Fulham over the weekend.

Recall that Arteta had opted to play Lewis-Skelly ahead of Martín Zubimendi in a central midfield role against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Henry believes Lewis-Skelly did very well against Fulham as Arsenal won 3-0 in the Premier League encounter.

“Miles was just different,” Henry told Sky Sports on Monday ahead of Arsenal’s game with Atletico.

“He did extremely well. I wouldn’t mind if he starts him [against Atletico Madrid], but then I can understand because of the magnitude of the game and how Zubimendi plays, sometimes you need to be a tiny bit more secure. We will see. But in this game, he was brave.

“Do not underestimate experience in this type of game. But would I like to see him on Tuesday or tomorrow, obviously? Yes. Why not?”
