A 30-year-old Point of Sale operator, Aliyu Musa, in Minna, Niger State, was on Monday morning killed by unknown assailants.
The assailants attacked Musa’s residence in the “T Mama” area of the state capital by forcing their way into his residence to perpetuate their illicit act.
A source explained to DAILY POST that in spite of the large sum of money offered the attackers by Aliyu Musa, they (assailants), they rejected, insisting they were in his residence to kill him.
According to the source, “Musa was first stabbed in the stomach before being repeatedly attacked with a machete.”
The attackers could not be apprehended when neighbours rushed to rescue the victim when he cried out for help.
They took Musa to the Tudun-Wada Police Station to report the incident before taking him to the Minna General Hospital, where he died before receiving medical attention.
The deceased’s elder brother, Malam Ibrahim Kolo confirmed the incident, stating that the remains of the victim were buried at the Muslim burial ground at 10 a.m. on Monday.
Wasiu Abiodun, the Niger State Police Command spokesman, confirmed the incident and assured that the police are after the assailants.
