
Spain midfielder, Gavi, has insisted that his Barcelona team-mate Lamine Yamal will win many Ballon d’Or awards in the future if he doesn’t wins the this year’s top individual prestigious award.
The winner for the 2025 Ballon d’Or will be announced in September and the likes of Yamal, Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, Mohamed Salah, Vitinha, Pedri and Kylian Mbappe are among top contenders for the Ballon d’Or.
Yamal, 18, was brilliant for the Blaugrana last season, helping Hansi Flick’s side won both the LaLiga title and the Copa del Rey.
Speaking with Diario AS, Gavi spoke about Yamal’s chances of winning the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
The midfielder responded: “I hope he wins. If he doesn’t this year, he’s 18 and very young.
“Being among the favorites is something unique. I am happy with what he’s doing with us.
“He is an incredible player. He is getting better every day. He is amazing in training.
“He has to keep going like this, with that mentality, and I’m sure that if he doesn’t win the 2025 Ballon d’Or, he will win many in the future.”
