Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has urged federal security agencies operating in the state to renew their commitment and strengthen collaboration in the fight against insecurity.

The governor made the call on Wednesday during a two-day end-of-year tour of security formations across the state.

He was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada.

Lawal expressed appreciation to officers and men on the frontlines for their sacrifices and dedication, assuring them of the state government’s continued support to enhance their operational effectiveness.

He also extended condolences to families and colleagues of security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, offering prayers for the repose of their souls.

The governor emphasised the need for concerted efforts among all security agencies to tackle the state’s security challenges, noting that collaboration remains critical to sustaining recent gains.

Heads of the various security agencies visited commended the initiative, describing it as a morale booster, while also appreciating residents for their cooperation in combating crime.

Security formations visited included the 1 Brigade Command, 207 Air Force Quick Response Group, Garrison Command, Zamfara State Police Command, Department of State Services, Nigerian Customs Service, Mobile Police Force 42, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards.

Officials described the tour as a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at recognising the resilience of security personnel and strengthening coordination in the fight against banditry and other criminal activities in the state.
