Barcelona in an official statement have shared the status of Pedri's injury that he sustained in the Wednesday Champions League matchday.
FC Barcelona have shared an update confirming that midfielder Pedro González, popularly known as Pedri, has suffered a right hamstring injury following the club’s recent UEFA fixture.
In an official update released on Thursday, the Catalan giants revealed that medical tests conducted earlier in the day confirmed the extent of the injury, which Pedri sustained during Barcelona’s away match against Slavia Prague on Wednesday. The club added that the expected recovery period is approximately one month.
The statement read, "Tests conducted this morning have confirmed that first team player Pedro González “Pedri” has a right hamstring injury, which he picked up during the game against Slavia Prague yesterday. The recovery time is expected to be one month."
Pedri was forced off the pitch in the 61st minute at the Fortuna Arena with Barcelona locked in a 2–2 draw at the time. Despite his early exit, the Blaugrana went on to complete an impressive comeback, securing a 4–2 victory in Prague.
The win marked Barcelona’s 29th victory of the 2025/26 season, underlining their strong form across competitions. Pedri has been a central figure in that success, starting 24 matches so far and contributing four goals. Wearing the number eight shirt, the Canary Islands-born midfielder has once again established himself as a vital component of Barcelona’s midfield, playing a key role in the team’s buildup and overall control of games.
Barcelona will now have to cope without one of their most influential players as Pedri begins his recovery, with the club expected to monitor his rehabilitation closely ahead of a potential return later in the season.
