One of the male housemates of the 2020 edition of the Big Brother Naija (BBN) reality TV show, Neo Akpofure, has waded into the ongoing debate on whether men should kneel when proposing marriage.
In a post on his X page (formerly Twitter) on Monday, the reality TV personality declared that he has no problem going down on one knee for the woman he loves.
Neo said he would gladly kneel down before the woman he would ask to marry him.

He wrote: “I will gladly kneel before the woman I will ask to marry me! If it looks like begging to you, IDC! That’s my helper God gave me, the one who will bring forth my generations to come. Everyone is just setting ridiculous standards these days. Y’all enjoy.”
His statement followed heated arguments online, with some insisting that cultural norms discourage men from kneeling, while others see it as a universal symbol of romance.
Neo’s comment quickly drew reactions from fans, many praising him for embracing humility in love, while a few traditionalists maintained their stance against the act.
