Human remains found buried in a shallow grave behind a middle school are believed to be a missing Philadelphia beauty queen. Kada Scott, 23, was last seen on October 4 leaving her job at an assisted living facility in Chestnut Hill, U.S, at around 9.30pm. She seemingly vanished as her car was left at work and her phone went offline. Now, two weeks after her disappearance, police believe the body found in a shallow grave is the missing Penn State graduate. Philadelphia Police Department FDC John Stanford called the discovery "a sombre and grateful moment" as he praised the public for providing relevant information to them. On Friday evening, Oct. 17, the police received a "very specific" tip that led them to a heavily wooded area where human remains were found. People who helped search the area described digging fresh dirt from under a board where maggots were crawling. There was also a strange smell coming from the ground. The school where the body was found is two and a half miles from where Scott worked. Two days earlier, a different tip led police to the same school where they found a 1999 Toyota Camry. Inside were several of her belongings including her debit card and phone case. The car belonged to Keon King, 21, who was charged this week with kidnapping and reckless endangerment in connection with Scotts disappearance.  Stanford added: "This is a heartbreaking development, and our thoughts are with Kadas family and loved ones during this extremely difficult time. The Philadelphia Police Department remains committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring that justice is served." The confirmation of the human remains must be done by the medical examiners office. Council President Kenyatta Johnson who represents the second Council District, took to Instagram following the discovery. He said: "I am heartbroken and deeply disturbed by the tragic discovery of what authorities believe to be the remains of 23-year-old Kada Scott. This devastating news brings an end to a two-week search that gripped our entire city and broke the hearts of everyone who hoped and prayed for her safe return. "My deepest condolences go out to Kadas family, friends, and loved ones during this unimaginably painful time. "Ms Scott was a young woman with her whole life ahead of her a Penn State graduate who had just begun her career in caregiving. Her disappearance and the horrific circumstances now surrounding her death are a reminder that we must do far more to protect women from violence and ensure that those with a history of abuse and harassment are not allowed to harm again. "As a city, we must continue to commit ourselves to protecting women, demanding accountability, and building a justice system that truly safeguards the vulnerable. Justice for Kada Scott and for every woman who had been a victim of violence-must remain a top priority."The post Body found in shallow grave believed to be missing beauty queen appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
