Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the North-West Governors’ Forum, Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed deep sorrow over the recent attack on worshippers at a mosque in Borno State.

Radda described the incident as a cruel and senseless act against innocent citizens who were engaged in worship, stressing that places of prayer must never be targets of violence.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor said the attack resulted in the loss of lives and left several others injured, plunging families and communities into mourning.

According to him, every life lost represents a grieving family and a traumatised community, noting that mosques, churches and other places of worship should remain sanctuaries of peace and reflection.

The governor said the incident highlights the urgent need to sustain efforts in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism across the country.

He urged security agencies to intensify operations, strengthen intelligence gathering and ensure that those responsible for the attack are brought to justice.

Radda also called on Nigerians to remain united and vigilant, stressing that national unity is crucial in confronting insecurity.

He reaffirmed the commitment of Northern governors to continue working with the Federal Government to improve security and protect lives and property.

The governor extended condolences to Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, the government and people of the state, as well as the families of the victims.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and for the speedy recovery of those injured.
