
The Benue State House of Assembly has announced a change in its leadership, dissolving the former principal officers and appointing new ones to major positions.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, September 11, 2025, by Zape Michael Upaa, Press Secretary to the Speaker, Thomas Dugeri is now the Majority Leader, while Abraham Jabi takes over as Deputy Majority Leader.
Cyril Ikong has been named Majority Chief Whip and Simon Gabo becomes the Deputy Majority Whip.
On the minority side, Abu Umoro assumes the role of Minority Leader, with Cephase Dyako as Deputy Minority Leader. Samuel Jiji has been appointed Minority Whip, and Moses Egbodo will serve as Deputy Minority Whip.
The statement added that more details on the reorganisation will be made public in due course.
