Former Benue State Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, has described the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari as painful, saying it is a great loss to Nigeria.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Terver Akase, on Monday, Ortom revealed that Buhari played an important role in the country’s political history, first as a military Head of State from 1984 to 1985, and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023.
He noted that Buhari led Nigeria during difficult times but still did his best to serve the country.
“The former Governor notes that President Buhari led Nigeria at a difficult time but contributed his quota to the country,”he said.
Ortom also extended his condolences to the late President’s family and prayed for God to grant him eternal rest.
