Unidentified burglars have broken into the office of the Gaya Local government chairman, Mahmoud Tajo Sani, in Kano State, carting away valuable items including solar equipment used for the council’s daily operations.
Confirming the development in a statement on Wednesday, the Chairman’s senior special assistant on Media, Comrade Naziru Mukhtar Gaya, revealed that the break-in occurred on Tuesday night, describing the incident as “shameful and regrettable.”
“The office of the Chairman of Gaya Local Government, Hon. Mahmoud Tajo Sani, was broken into yesterday by criminal elements, resulting in the theft of important items,” he said.
Although he didn’t reveal the total value of the items stolen by the burglars, he assured that, security agencies had already begun an investigation to find those responsible for the burglary.
“We strongly condemn this act and call on Almighty Allah to expose those responsible and protect Gaya Local Government from such unpatriotic behaviour,” he stated.
