Burna Boy explains why he may not start a family soon

Grammy Award-winning Nigerian musician Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, has revealed why he has no plans to have children anytime soon.

The Afrobeats icon who recently dropped an album stated that the main reason he hasn’t settled down and started a family is his hectic traveling schedule.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra in London, when asked if starting a family was something he desired soon, Burna Boy replied, “Yeah, but I don’t want to start that on the road. I’m not planning on quitting tours anytime soon, so I don’t know where to now put that [starting a family]; find a middle ground.”

Burna Boy made it clear that he aspires to be completely settled and capable of giving his kids the care and presence they require, just like his own parents did for him.

He previously stated during an Instagram live session in May 2024, “Have you seen my mom and the way she loves me? Have you seen my dad, the way he loves me? I know I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I’m living. So until I’m settled and I can be there for my children everyday, I’m not having any kid.”
