The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has described the outcome of Saturday’s by-elections held in parts of the country as a public endorsement of the leadership of Bola Tinubu and the ruling party’s governance agenda.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Lagos APC spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said the results reflected growing confidence in the party’s direction and policies, particularly the Renewed Hope Agenda being pursued at the federal level.
“The outcome of these by-elections represents a clear and democratic referendum on the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the policy direction of our great party,” Oladejo said.
He expressed appreciation to voters in Rivers State, Kano State, the Federal Capital Territory, and other parts of the country, describing their participation as a demonstration of faith in the APC’s reform agenda.
According to the party, the victories recorded by its candidates showed public trust in ongoing economic reforms, infrastructure development, and institutional strengthening initiatives being implemented by the Tinubu administration.
“The resounding victories recorded by our candidates reaffirm the confidence of the electorate in the Renewed Hope Agenda and the transformative policies being implemented at both federal and state levels,” the statement said.
The Lagos APC argued that the by-election results amounted to a decisive rejection of opposition parties, accusing them of relying heavily on rhetoric and online activism rather than presenting credible and practical policy alternatives to Nigerians.
“These results send a strong message that governance is not driven by social media popularity or online noise, but by tangible performance and the ability to deliver on promises,” Oladejo stated.
The party further dismissed claims that digital influence alone could determine electoral success, noting that electoral outcomes are shaped by grassroots engagement and voter confidence rather than virtual trends.
Looking ahead, the Lagos APC said the results could be an indication of strong prospects for the party in the 2027 general elections, citing what it described as increasing public trust in the administration’s leadership.
“The momentum demonstrated in these by-elections is not accidental; it is a reflection of trust earned through decisive leadership, courageous reforms, and a commitment to national development,” the spokesperson added.
The party also commended INEC for what it described as a credible conduct of the elections, while praising security agencies for maintaining peace and order throughout the process.
It equally acknowledged party leaders, campaign teams, and volunteers for their mobilisation efforts at the grassroots level.
Reaffirming its support for President Tinubu, the Lagos APC called on Nigerians, including members of opposition parties, to put aside partisan differences and work collectively towards building a more united and prosperous nation.
