Former Enyimba forward, Chibuzor Ozurumba has expressed confidence that Rivers United will progress from their CAF Champions League group.
Rivers United are in Group A with defending champions Egyptian club Pyramids FC, Morocco’s RS Berkane and Power Dynamos of Zambia.
Ozurumba believed that the Pride of Rivers posses the right mentality and quality to qualify from the group.
He described Rivers United’s group stage qualification as a historic achievement for the club.
“It’s a very strong group, and I credit Rivers United for their ability to make it into the group stage — that’s history on its own,” Ozurumba told Sports247.
“The next stage will be tougher because their opponents are strong teams, but the fact that Rivers United made it this far shows they are also a formidable side. Their opponents must be wary of them.
“For me, Rivers United will qualify from that group, but they need to keep working hard. If they do, the results will show. I strongly believe they have what it takes.”
