Calabar residents have appealed to the Cross River State Ministry of Environment and other relevant authorities to evacuate the decomposing body of a suspected jungle justice victim, citing health and environmental concerns. It was gathered that the body of the unidentified young man has lain along Murtala Mohammed Highway in Calabar, for five days.  According to Cross River Watch, the body was dumped in front of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Secretariat on the night of Thursday, September 4, 2025.  According to reports, the victim was caught stealing elsewhere and later k!lled, with his body dumped at the NYSC Secretariat in the night to avoid tracing. The corpse has begun to decompose, emitting a foul odor and displaying signs of swelling and blisters, possibly from burns.  The smell has made it challenging for commuters, road users, and residents to access the nearby bus stop, with many opting to stay away from the area, the publication reported on Monday, September 8.   The post Calabar residents appeal for evacuation of decomposing body of suspected jungle justice victim appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
