CAN hails release of Christian worshippers in Kaduna

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State, Rev. Aminu Ayuka, has hailed the efforts made by Governor Uba Sani and security personnel towards ensuring the release of the Kurmin wali kidnapped worshippers.

Hundreds of Christian worshippers were on Sunday, January 18, 2026, abducted by bandits from three churches in Kurmin Wali into the forest.

A statement issued by the chairman of CAN in the local government, Rev. Aminu Ayuka also called on Christian youths to shun all acts of violence that could be inimical to the unity and development of the area and the state as a whole.

According to him, “I want to thank Governor Uba Sani for the projects that are ongoing in the local government and the relative peace the people of the area are enjoying and we pray for God’s protection and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state.

“We also pray for God’s intervention in our state and the local government by bringing to an end the banditry and kidnapping activities in chikun local government and the entire state.”

The Chairman called on all the pastors to educate their members about the ongoing voter’s registration and ensure they participate in activities that would bring peace and unity to the area.
