United States President Donald Trump says Iran has sent peace offer with the view to ending the ongoing hostility between the two countries.
Addressing reporters on Saturday, Trump said Iran sent the peace offer about ten minutes after he announced the cancellation of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner’s trip to Pakistan for diplomatic talks on Saturday morning.
“Iran sent over a fresh peace offer that was much better than what they would have gone into the meeting working with,” he said.
When asked by reporters what changed since Friday, the president responded, “Nothing.”
“It’s just that they gave us a paper that should have been better. And interestingly, immediately, when I canceled it, within ten minutes, we got a new paper that was much better,” Trump added.
According to the president, the US communicated again with Iran his red line that the regime could not have any nuclear weapons.
