Chalobah Is Chelsea’s best central defender — Ex Chelsea star Joe Cole

Former Chelsea FC star, Joe Cole has described Trevoh Chalobah as the clubs best central defender at the moment. Cole, a long-time admirer of Chalobah, said it was a mistake to allow the defender go out on loan to Crystal Palace last season. Hes been impressive since he walked back in the door, Cole said on the Dressing Room Podcast. Reflecting on Chelseas defensive decisions in recent years, Cole questioned the clubs recruitment strategy, pointing to players like Marc Guehi, Chalobah, and Fikayo Tomori, who were allowed to leave, while significant money was spent on replacements. He mentioned signings such as Benot Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, and Kalidou Koulibaly, questioning how those decisions have played out over time. I still think Trevoh Chalobah is our best central defender, and hes getting better and better. He understands the club it was a crime to let him leave.
