
Eight countries have been eliminated from the ongoing CAF African Nations Championship, CHAN.
The countries are Mauritania, Guinea, Niger Republic, Angola, the Central African Republic, Zambia, Nigeria and Burkina Faso.
Mauritania is the latest country to exit CHAN after Madagascar won 2-1 against Burkina Faso.
The outcome of the result means, Tanzania finished top of Group B with 10 points from four games, followed by Madagascar in second position with 7 points and superior goal difference ahead of third place Mauritania with 7 points.
This means that Mauritania, Burkina Faso (fourth) and Central African Republic (fifth) are now out from the competition after finishing behind Tanzania and Madagascar in Group B.
Mauritania have now joined the likes of Guinea, Niger, Zambia, Angola, Nigeria, the Central African Republic and Burkina Faso in exiting the tournament.
