There are indications that former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, may soon dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement on Sunday by his Personal Assistant, Emmanuel Hangeior, Suswam who has been having a running battle with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over N3.1bn fraud charges brought against him by the agency, said his decision reflects his readiness to work closely with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and Governor Hyacinth Alia to ensure Benue fully benefits from federal programs and opportunities.

The former two-term governor noted that his intention to defect from the PDP weeks after he vowed never to dump the party, is a shift from partisan rivalry to people-focused governance.
He stressed that cooperation with the Federal Government is essential to tackling Benue’s key challenges including insecurity, unemployment, and poor infrastructure.
“The time has come for Benue leaders to close ranks and put the people first,” the statement said.
