Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle can now sleep a bit easier after two of his injured players returned to action this weekend, DAILY POST reports.
Winger Samuel Chukwueze and midfielder Raphael Onyedika featured for Fulham and Club Brugge respectively on Saturday.
Chukwueze sustained a calf injury in Nigeria’s home clash with Benin Republic in Uyo last month.
After missing Fulham’s previous three games, the winger featured for 13 minutes in the 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday night.
Onyedika, who missed the Super Eagles’ games against Lesotho and Benin due to hamstring injury was back playing again for Club Brugge Saturday.
The 24-year-old played for 64 minutes in the 2-1 win over Dender.
The duo are now expected to be included in Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs squad starting November 13.
