Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has asked Nigerians to always be conscious of the common humanity and shared values that bind them to unity.
He told Christians in particular that Christmas signifies hope and salvation brought to the world in need of redemption.
Fintiri, in a statement released on Wednesday, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, said the world would be a better place if the virtues reflected by the holy birth of Christ, especially the love for one another, were practised faithfully.
“This holy and festive season reminds us of our shared humanity and the common values that unite us irrespective of religion or tribe,” Fintiri stated.
He expressed regret that the nation ‘has had to contend with the worst security and economic crisis of our time” but asked Nigerians to trust that Christ’s luminous teachings will continue to inspire hope and possibilities.
