Club World Cup: Crazy – Xabi Alonso reacts to Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Dortmund

Real Madrid head coach, Xabi Alonso, has said the last 10 minutes of their 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Club World Cup quarter-final were “crazy”.

The LaLiga giants appeared to be coasting to a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Gonzalo Garcia and Fran Garcia.

But Maximilian Beier pulled one back, before Kylian Mbappe volleyed his first goal at the tournament.

There was, however, more drama as Dean Huijsen was sent off, before Serhou Guirassy converted a late penalty.

Alonso, speaking to DAZN, said: “Everything was going under control with the result, not conceding much, but the last 10 minutes were kind of crazy.

“We lost a bit our shape and intensity.

“Luckily nothing went through, but overall a good 80 minutes and the last 10 minutes to improve.”
