The immediate past Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has insisted that there was no corruption during the administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Malami, who noted that corruption didn’t thrive under Buhari, stressed that the past administration recorded thousands of convictions related to high-profile corruption cases.

He disclosed this while featuring on Arise TV on Tuesday night.

Malami insisted that Buhari maintained a firm stance against corruption while in office.

According to Malami: “During the period of President Muhammadu Buhari, corruption was not thriving at all.

“If you talk of convictions associated with high-profile corruption cases, the government recorded convictions in thousands.”

Malami disclosed that $2 billion in looted funds was recovered during Buhari’s administration.

“He brought about the Single Treasury Account, which created a governance-wide visibility associated with funding the finances of the government,” Malami said.
