A Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of a 35-year-old man, Ahmed Tijani, at the correctional facility in Ado-Ekiti over alleged burglary and stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Yomi Osuolale, told the court that there is probable cause to remand the defendant, who is reasonably suspected to have committed the offences against Odin Oluwatosin, Obayemi Feranmi, Dada Emmanuel Ibukunoluwa, Babatope Goodness, Odianoween Blessing, Bayesewa Glory and others.
According to the prosecutor, the alleged offences are punishable under Sections 322(a) and (c), and 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
He stated that the incident occurred on February 10, 2026, at about 3:30 a.m. within the Oye-Ekiti Magisterial District.
ASP Osuolale informed the court that further investigation is required and that the case file has been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. He therefore urged the court to grant the remand application.
In his ruling, the Magistrate, O. F. Bamidele, ordered that the defendant be remanded in custody pending legal advice from the DPP.
