Defiant Israel Adesanya refuses to retire from UFC after fourth consecutive defeats

Former two-time UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, has shut down talks of retiring from mixed martial arts despite suffering his fourth consecutive defeat. The Nigerian-born fighter suffered a second-round knockout loss to Joe Pyfer at UFC Fight Night in Seattle over the weekend. The defeat extended Adesanyas losing streak to four, the worst slump of his illustrious career. In his post-fight interview, Adesanya was defiant not to retire from mixed martial arts. When Daniel Cormier asked Adesanya about the shift in strategy that led to his downfall. He said, I said before coming into this fight, its been 13 months. I wanted to feel like Id been in a fight, and he gave me just that. So like I said to him at the weigh-ins, they gave me a shot, now its my turn to give him a shot. And he earned it. And he did so great. So congrats to Joe Pyfer for this. With this being his fourth loss in a row, a defeat to No. 14-ranked Pyfer, Cormier asked Adesanya about what was next.
